Lead QA

As the Functional QA Lead, you will act as a subject matter expert for various features and modules of the product and contribute testing efforts for assigned software development and maintenance projects as part of a defined software development life cycle.

You will perform leadership activities in the following areas: QA Best Practices, Test Automation, Analytics and Reporting. You will understand business needs, interpret business needs into viable test plans/test strategies to deliver solutions that satisfy users and business partners. The environment includes many frequent changes in tasks and direction, requiring this individual to be able to focus concurrently on multiple, high-priority, and high-visibility deliverables and issues simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Drive improvements in testing processes. Document and review processes and train the team to ensure a superior Quality process.
• Lead and grow the Quality Assurance team into an effective and respected division, identify new talent, and manage and retain talent.
• Lead or mentor QA engineers and drive a culture of technical perfection.
• Must know SQL queries so as to see interaction of Frontend Application with Database
• Thorough understanding of the technical stack
• Understand the Requirements thoroughly and should be able to build all Test cases for different types of scenarios and based on business logic.
• Must be able to make effort estimation sheets for QA Phase and make sure the team completes Testing Phase on time
• Establish and evolve formal QA processes, ensuring that the team is using industry-accepted best practices.
• Oversee all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met.
• Act as key point of contact for all QA aspects of releases, providing QA services and coordinating QA resources internally and externally.

Requirements

• 6- 9 years of experience in Manual/Functional Testing of Web and Mobile based applications
• Experience working in hyper-growth environments and scaling operations.
• Experience of implementing agile, kanban or a similar software development methodology.
• Experience in supporting live production, cloud-based infrastructure, and the ability to help put out fires under pressure.
• Familiarity with micro service architecture, containers and related technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS). Should be comfortable working with Linux as an application server.
• Must have good aptitude and understanding of business logic of the application
