As our Engineer - QA (ETL Testing), you will be responsible for developing, and executing exploratory, automated tests to ensure the quality of our data pipeline and sources. Working with a highly motivated team, you will help build the most successful gaming platform for the web and mobile, hosting games played by millions.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing quality specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
- Ensure data pipelines are well-tested in different environments using available methodologies and practices before they are signed off for release.
- Creating detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
- Estimating, prioritizing, planning and coordinating quality testing activities
- Utilize test automation capabilities by identifying use cases to automate, create action plans, drive technology choices and implementation, build and manage test automation framework, and provide visibility to test automation results across the organization.
- We are creating and maintaining all QA-related documentation throughout the process and tracking bugs.
- Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
- Recommend and utilize tools, frameworks, methodologies, and practices to improve all aspects of testing.
- Drive improvements in testing processes, Document and review processes and train the team to ensure a superior Quality process.
- Stay up to date with new testing tools and test strategies.
- Translate the company’s overall vision into a series of objectives, laying down the roadmap to achieve the objectives and executing the resulting plan in a structured and time-bound manner.
- Institute best QA practices to deliver successful, innovative products.
- Work closely with the Data Engineering, Product, and Analytics teams and be involved in conceptualizing and building new products from scratch.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Overall 4-7 years’ relevant experience.
- Solid knowledge of SQL and Python.
- Should have experience in code review and debugging skills.
- Experience in working in a distributed database & big data environment.
- Experience with defect tracking, project management tools and Agile/Scrum development process like JIRA.
- Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills with the ability to work within a growing company with increasing needs
- Proven track record of ability to handle time-critical projects
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Snowflake
- Ability to independently manage test and quality checks and handle issues around it
- Good in system design and solving complex testing challenges and debugging skills.
- We are experienced in testing non-functional requirements such as security, reliability, performance, maintainability, and scalability of data pipelines.
- Experience in load and performance testing ETLs and data lakes with high concurrency.
- Good to have familiarity with cloud/data lake architecture, Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, and scheduling tools like Apache Airflow
- Expertise in databases (e.g SQL Server, Athena, Snowflake, postgreDB & MongoDB).
