Senior IT Engineer

The Senior IT Engineer should be capable of proactive in identifying, investigating and resolving technical incidents and problems and restoring service to internal clients by managing incidents to resolution. Their primary objective is to ensure zero missed service level agreement conditions. The Senior IT Engineer focuses on second line support for medium complexity incidents and maintains the Internal IT environmental and monitoring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Designs and develops integrated solutions to meet business requirements or enhance performance. To develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Analyses potential systems investments and prepares supporting documentation for recommendation(s) to management and customers based on results of independent assessment of current and future performance, stability, and systems management/life cycle issues.
• Experience supporting user issues for data, providing operational support.
• Experience with Cloud Technologies (AWS, Azure).
• Overall Understanding of high availability system design concepts and configuration best practices.
• Design, implementation, and support services for Microsoft related technologies: Windows Server.
• Technical services and support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, firewalls(checkpoint), and security.
• Remote access solution implementation and support: VPN, Terminal Services.
• GPO development and implementation.
• OU structure design and implementation.
• Active Directory Administration support (user/group creation, apply policies, and check event viewer for some issues.
• Operating System security hardening of Domain Controllers across the enterprise Server/OS hardening methods Support for DNS, DHCP, group policy.
• Vendor Management.
• Antivirus Administration.
• Communication with customers as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes, and agreed on outages.
• Advanced Desktop Troubleshooting.
• Gsuite administration
• Basic private and public cloud administration.
• Hands-on experience on operating system Window / MAC / Ubuntu and basic problems.
• WIFI access and manageability through the WIFI controller.

Requirements

• 8 years of experience in Information Technology or related field.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to analyze performance issues and provide root cause using analysis logs and various tools.
• Ability to analyze the capacity and performance requirements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with internal client and team relationship/interaction skills.
• Experience in a large corporate environment would be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of HA/Clustering technologies, including CFS, GFS and ability to deploy same desirable.
• Strong knowledge of logical infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP, LDAP, FTP, SSH, etc.
