Sr. Engineering Manager


As our Sr. Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for taking ownership of the core products in JungleeGames. You must have good communication, interpersonal, technical, and analytical skills in order to take part in the collaborative and cooperative development process that delivers high-quality software.
You will develop and manage a team of highly motivated and talented individuals that can collaborate with Product Managers, Technical Program Managers, SDEs, QA, and SDET across the company on this high-impact initiative.


Responsibilities


  • Managing and mentoring a team of engineers, ensuring that they have the resources and support they need to be successful
  • Defining and implementing engineering processes and best practices
  • Collaborating with other departments, such as product management and design, to ensure that engineering efforts align with overall company goals
  • Identifying and evaluating new technologies and tools that can improve the team's performance
  • Managing the engineering budget and resources
  • Ensuring that products or systems are delivered on time and meet quality standards
  • Communicating the team's progress and roadblocks to stakeholders and upper management
  • Participating in hiring, performance evaluation, and career development of team members
  • Helping to define and drive the company's technical strategy, vision, and goals

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • Overall 12+ years of relevant experience, out of which at least 8+ years of experience in consumer-facing software products with high levels of concurrency.
  • Experience in hyper-growth environments & scaling up operations.
  • Experience in managing non-functional requirements such as security, reliability, performance, maintainability, and scalability.
  • Strong analytical skills with previous experience working with complex data sets. Must have experience in data-driven design and architecture, to ensure valuable insights can be extracted efficiently.
  • Experience in creating, improving & maintaining tech processes such as the build and release process, continuous integration, coding guidelines, the code review process, etc.
  • Strong development experience in Java, NodeJS, and GoLang and familiarity with multiple other programming languages.
  • Experience with distributed cache and message queues.
  • Familiarity with microservice architecture, containers, and related technologies.
  • Expertise in any SQL and NoSQL Databases.
  • Background in high-volume web applications, data mining, and multi-tiered transactional systems.
  • Proven leadership and managerial skills to manage engineering teams. Ability to lead, inspire and improve team members.
  • Experience in implementing agile software development methodology
  • Experience in supporting live production, cloud-based infrastructure, and the ability to put out fires under pressure.
