As our SDE II - Performance Engineering, you will be responsible for benchmarking, load testing and capacity planning cutting-edge applications and products at the user level and code level. Work collaboratively and closely with engineering and product teams that enhance and maintain the applications that make up the product and the underlying services that drive them.
Responsibilities
- Fully understand the functionality and objectives of the target software and system.
- Design, develop, and maintain thorough, clear, concise test cases for performance testing.
- Work closely with development teams to ensure exceptional test coverage and performance.
- Participate in functional, system, and regression testing activities.
- Report project status, defects report and verification, and issue escalation in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Engineering in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience.
- Demonstrated experience in test planning, test design, test strategy, and test execution of highly complex systems.
- 2-5 years of experience working as a Performance Engineer.
- Hands-on experience in distributed load testing and monitoring applications using APM tools like new relic, Prometheus and grafana.
- Hands-on experience with various load testing tools like JMeter, Gatling
- Hands-on experience in test management and defect tracking tools.
- Good understanding of basic performance concepts like thread dump, heap dump, GC analysis and profiling tools like JProfiler, Yourkit etc.
- Good understanding of JVM along with garbage collection mechanisms.
- Good understanding of databases like RDBMS, NoSQL
- Good to have knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and AWS.
- Good to have knowledge of scripting and developing automation frameworks for performance, SQL, Unix commands and manual API testing using tools like a postman.
- Good to have knowledge of any programming language like Java or Python.
- Have experience in mobile apps, web and backend testing.
